Neurology
Neurology services are provided at Carteret Medical Group (CMG). The department is directed by Dr. Art Sonberg and provides care for a variety of neurological illnesses, numbness and tingling, neuropathy, headaches and seizure disorders. Services for Alzheimer’s, dementia and Parkinson’s patients are also provided. Dr. Sonberg specializes in EEG interpretation and performs and interprets electrodiagnostic studies, such as EMG (electromyogram) and NCV/NCS (nerve conduction studies).
Dr. Sonberg is American Board Certified with 30 years of experience, and has been a voluntary faculty member of the Neurology Departments at the Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia, and the University of Miami.
Carteret Medical Group was created as a result of the growing need for additional specialty services available on an outpatient basis in our area. We are excited to offer a convenient, state-of-the art health care option and provide much needed specialty care on a local basis for the residents of Eastern North Carolina. Gastroenterology services are also available.
